Another benefit I discovered to quinoa porridge versus overnight oats? It is a little different from the regular oat porridge which I and many others are used to but this does not impact it’s delicious taste, I even think it tastes better than my standard bowl of oat porridge. Since it’s that time of year, I added a couple of apples to the mix to make it a sort of apple pie quinoa porridge and the results turned out fantastic. It's also a great way to use leftover quinoa, which, if you're like me, you might make in batches often.
This breakfast comes together fairly quickly, in just 20 minutes and results in a creamy texture.
This porridge is creamy, thick, butte… Scoop the quinoa into two bowls and serve as is or add warm almond milk for a porridge-style breakfast. In a medium saucepan, add your choice of fluid on medium heat, stirring constantly, making sure that the quinoa does not stick to the bottom of the pot to avoid burning. Combine the water, quinoa, KRAFT Natural Smooth Peanut Butter and cinnamon in a saucepan and cook gently, stirring, for 3-5 minutes or until thickened and creamy. Once simmering, add quinoa and salt and stir until mixture comes to a low boil.
Keep stirring for several minutes. I only made on slight change to my recipe, but it made a world of difference. Please heed my warning, and avoid the shame that I now suffer.
